• "Certified Organic" refers to a type of agricultural product that has been produced according to strict standards set by a certification body, and has been certified as meeting those standards. The purpose of organic certification is to ensure that food and agricultural products are produced using sustainable, environmentally friendly practices, without the use of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, or genetically modified organisms (GMOs).  To be certified organic, a farm or producer must follow a set of guidelines and regulations that are established by the certification body. These guidelines may vary depending on the country and the specific certification program, but generally involve practices such as crop rotation, composting, and the use of natural pest control methods. Certified organic products are typically labeled with a certification mark or logo that indicates that the product has met the requirements for organic certification. This label is regulated by the certification body and is intended to give consumers confidence that the product they are purchasing has been produced in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner. In the United States, the USDA National Organic Program (NOP) is responsible for regulating organic agriculture and providing organic certification. Other countries have their own organic certification programs, and some international organizations, such as the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM), have established global standards for organic production.

• GOLS stands for the Global Organic Latex Standard. It is a certification program that establishes requirements for organic latex products, including mattresses, pillows, and cushions. The GOLS standard is designed to ensure that organic latex products are made from certified organic latex and meet strict environmental and social criteria.  To be certified by GOLS, a product must contain at least 95% certified organic raw material, and any non-organic material must meet strict environmental and social criteria. GOLS also sets standards for the processing, manufacturing, packaging, and labeling of organic latex products.  In addition to the environmental criteria, GOLS also has strict social criteria for the production of organic latex. This includes requirements for fair labor practices, such as prohibiting the use of child labor and ensuring safe working conditions.  The GOLS certification process involves on-site inspections, laboratory testing, and document verification. Companies that meet the GOLS standard are allowed to use the GOLS logo on their certified organic latex products.  The GOLS standard is managed by the Control Union Certifications, a certification body based in the Netherlands. The standard was developed in collaboration with stakeholders from the organic latex industry, including farmers, processors, manufacturers, and retailers, to ensure that it represents the best practices in the industry for organic latex production.

• GOTS stands for the Global Organic Textile Standard. It is a certification program that sets criteria for organic textiles and fiber products. GOTS certification ensures that products are made with certified organic materials and meet strict environmental and social criteria throughout the production process. To be certified by GOTS, a product must contain at least 70% certified organic fibers. GOTS also sets requirements for the processing, manufacturing, packaging, labeling, trading, and distribution of organic textiles, including requirements for wastewater treatment, chemical use, and social criteria. The environmental criteria of GOTS include the prohibition of toxic and harmful substances, a requirement for water and energy efficiency, and a focus on minimizing waste and pollution. The social criteria include requirements for fair labor practices, such as prohibiting the use of child labor and ensuring safe working conditions. GOTS certification is voluntary, and products that meet the standard can be labeled with the GOTS logo. The certification process involves on-site inspections, laboratory testing, and document verification. The GOTS standard is managed by the International Working Group on Global Organic Textile Standard (IWG), which is made up of stakeholders from the organic textile industry, including farmers, processors, manufacturers, and retailers. The standard was developed to ensure that the production of organic textiles meets the highest environmental and social standards, and to provide a clear and consistent way for consumers to identify and choose organic textile products.
